How long are the horses at Eliva Park before they are sold?

This will vary.

Some of our clients have the experience to take a horse right off-the-track but don’t have the connections to find one.

Sometimes we don’t advertise a horse right away because it is undergoing rehabilitation or it requires a longer transitional period.

Some horses we decide to train to competition level.

Do you train outside horses?

We do not take on other people’s horses as we do not have the resources. Our focus is on getting quality horses off-the-track and into suitable homes.

Will you allow horses to go on trial?

No. Changing a horses routine will often result in the horse not showing its true personality. Change in feed can cause discomfort or worse, colic. It is impossible to check all prospective buyers facilities and capabilities to care for our horses on trial. We do however know our horses and will help you make the right match.

What can I expect to pay?

This depends. Generally you can expect to pay between $2,500 to $7,500 for a horse that has had basic education and a transitional period of 1 to 6 months at Eliva Park.

We do have horses between $1,500 to $2,500, which are likely to have been at Eliva Park for less than one month and are offered due to space constraints, age, conformation, soundness or temperament issues. These are green horses straight off the track and only suitable for knowledgeable homes. We also have horses which are "out and about", the Elite of Eliva Park, generally offered at $7,500 plus.
